The Athlon 64's are a different story and run quite cool. Most of the ones we've built at work have used the stock standard heatsink and your generic case with an exhaust fan, and they'll run anywhere from 40-50 degrees depending upon ambient temperature. My Athlon 64 3200 has a Zalman CNP7000 heatsink that I originally ran on my 1900 Palomino. At the moment the core temperature is at 43 degrees, with case temperature around 38. During gaming I'll turn on my case fans and it'll still stay quite close to the ambient temps. Definately a lot better than my old 1900 which could get upwards of 60 degrees in a big session.
