Some bonded-in windscreens are structural.

Not sure if a RA40 is though.
Probably only applies to newer cars, but I have read figures of 30% structural strength/rigidity just from the windscreen.

When I was restoring my TA40 I was going to take the screen out, but the more I looked into it, the more I doubted it was a good idea.

As you have got to do it, might as well get some advice from a windscreen company, they may also sell you the right adhesive.
