Well you've got your wires crossed all over the place.

Gen1 3S-G(T)E were based in the ST16X celica.
Gen2 3S-G(T)E were based in the ST18X celica and SW20 MR2.

All the engines bolt in yes. But you have to remember you can't put in an older engine then the car is. Which rules out the Gen1 engine for your car.

Get a ST184 halfcut with the 3sge in it. It will bolt straight up. No mess no fuss. It also makes more power over the Gen1 3sge.
