If you have it wired into accessories then it will turn off when you hit the crank.
I think this because the radio and stuff usually turns off when you're cranking the engine - this will leave you with no fuel pressure when is tries to start.
Athough looking at what STR8 2.8 says makes sense. When you say that you are wired to accessories do you mean the relay or have you hard wired the pump?
Another thing - what is wrong with following the directions on the EMS wiring diagram?
