locking a dizzy? Mon, 14 March 2005 22:39 Go to previous message
Hoy Thar,

when locking a toyota VR elec dizzy, would it be sufficient to just remove the advance weights and then replace the springs?

from what i can see, only one spring does anything until full mech advance and is pretty much just a stop, and it appears that there is enough tension in the other spring to keep the top shaft from rotating. the only forces on it will be the inertial forces during accel of the rotor i guess.

has anyone directly compared removing the wieghts, vs making up a solid locking plate?

Cya, Stewart
