river Forums Junkie Location: Land of Oz Registered: June 2004	Re: Install of shift light in a Sprinter (4ac) Wed, 16 March 2005 04:16 Hi, Mate, I don't want to rain on your parade, but really, a shift-light is very unnecessary if you know your car and are competent driving a manual gearbox. You should be able to tell by the sound of the engine, the speed you're going and the general feel of the car when it is necessary to change the gears. Furthermore, the light comes on at max power revs and you won't be screaming the engine at those revs each time you need to change gear, unless you're in a drag. I'm not saying this to piss you off or to have a go at you, but I'm sure there's better things you can blow your money on (for your car) than a light that tells you when to do something that you already know how to do. Just a stock tacho is more than adequate to determine engine speed - assuming your car doesn't have one. seeyuzz river [Report message to a moderator]
