hamgatan Forums Junkie I supported Toymods Location: Perth Registered: July 2004	Re: 7mgte cooling issues Fri, 18 March 2005 03:16 Evil_Foetus wrote on Fri, 18 March 2005 11:05 but again, the oil looks healthy as buggery today. and when i stopped the car, it wasn't blowing bubbles. the overflow tank wasn't as high as usual. the temperature gauge was still up a bit, but it wasn't idling as bad (but still like shit) as usual. is your steering a bit sluggish? chances are if youre leaking oil at the front, youve got the good old steering rack nightmare.. what happens is the power steering fluid superheats and melts the seals on the steering rack. if you look in front of the radiator you'll see the curved bar that looks like a heater grille.. thats all you have to cool the fluid down. which is pretty piss poor if you ask me. id get someone to hook up a small radiator there in place of that bar to cool the fluid off better. oh and change the seals on your steering rack too once youve done that. i found that with mine it was generating so much heat it was making other things heat up and yeah.. check it out dude.. it was making my temp gauge jump like a mofo on the 5MGE..
