Hi mate-from what you describe, I'm relatively confident the problem is the pressurised sump. Although 5psi may only seem a small amount of pressure, it is more than enough to cause the turbo to leak oil past the rear seal (there should be virtually no measurable pressure in there if it's all set up correctly). The oil drains back into the sump and if there is 5psi in the sump, there's a good chance the oil will shove it's way past the seal and go into the housing instead.

Try removing the PCV valve all together, and run an open hose from the PCV hole on the rocker cover to your catch can, and then a line from the can to the airbox or the front of the turbo. (or you can just leave the catch can open to air-but it'll be a bit smelly)

Run the car again, and you should see virtually no measurable pressure in the sump-AND (I hope) no more oil smoke.

Even with brilliant compression, all engines will leak some gases past the rings into the sump, and on a turbo car, any residual pressure in there will generally upset the oil drain back and blow a bit of smoke.

Cheers
Sean
