HKS 1GGZE OGURA SUPERCHARGER KIT with pic Sat, 19 March 2005 07:28 1.8 bar rating is Absolute Pressure Rating you take 1 bar(14.7psi) off that and that gives you your boost gauge reading[relative pressure).. which would be .8 bar .. if you look at turbo compressor maps they are the same . .OGURA superchargers on there website give a max Pressure Ratio of 1.8 Bar.continuous .. The Pressure ratio is simply the absolute pressure coming out of the supercharger, divided by atmospheric pressure. Boost gauges show relative pressure, meaning that they show pressure above absolute pressure (atmospheric). For example, you're going along at 120 kmh with your foot to floor, and your boost gauge shows 14 psi (or .97 bar). The pressure ratio is: [(your boost gauge reading)+(atmospheric)]/(atmospheric) = pressure ratio(PR) [14psi+14.7psi]/14.7psi = 1.95 Pressure Ratio [Updated on: Sat, 19 March 2005 11:04] [Report message to a moderator]
