if you have 10k do a 7m conversion and get a reasonable supra you will be very impressed with the power and performance you will get from it, if you want something a little spicier go with a j series engine much similar initial performane but much more potential for power only problem is this is not a cheap one like the 7m (although i can sell you the engine mounts to do it real cheap . i just spent 16k doing mine and am selling it on tuesday for 12k DO NOT do a 1G this was my initial idea but it will not cope with the extra weight of the car , the 1 g sprinter i was in was fast but it weighed less andhad som e work done.a 2j or 1/2 UZ is the ultimate prize but again, mmore costly.
