Yes, and much more then most will let you, because the minimum thickness is set by lawyers, not engineers. a thin drum is risky since you're trying to expand it, but a disk/rotor isn't dangerous until it's super thin because it's being compressed.
i think those "minimums" are almost twice what they can be.

i've never seen any "resin" that had the same symptoms and/or didn't disappear when used a little.

Also, try the e-brake! it may be your rears!
