Yeah I originally thought of that idea as I had two solenoids left over from my last car, The problem is the mechanisms are all there for the factory one to bolt right up, plus there are two seperate solenoids.. it could be done with enough work, but I'd much rather get something genuine to fit.
I'll get a price off toyota for a genuine replacement item next time I'm there...
