zasa Regular Location: Canberra Registered: October 2004	Car won't start, any ideas? Thu, 24 March 2005 23:46 Hi Guys, I had my car at a friends house getting some panel beating done. I went to pick the car up yesterday and my mate tells me he had trouble starting it, so he left it alone for me to look at. The problem is that car will not start. The engine turns but it appears it's not getting the required fuel to ignite. My relays are good, fuel pump I've yet to check however I'm thinking that it may have something to do with the immobilizer. I tried turning the alarm off using the key on the alarm horn. That did nothing to fix the problem. I then switched the alarm back on, same problem, except now the alarm was now completely dead, key less entry stopped working all together. Does this sound like it may be something to do with the alarm? The car itself has not had/shown any mechanical problems of any sort previously. Do alarms with the on/off switches located on the alarm horn have a secondary switch for the immobilizer? Any comments/suggestions appreciated. EDIT: I forgot to mention that he did some welding with the panel beating. He attached something to the battery to stop it from shorting any car circuitry etc. However, I'm assuming the alarm runs on a separate circuit, so maybe the welding could have damaged it???
