Engine Conversion Wiring - What is involved? Fri, 25 March 2005 02:34 Go to previous message
Ok, noob question: Say I want to drop a newer generation engine of the same family (3S) into the Celica. What exactly would be involved in wiring it up? I'm assuming that the engine wiring loom (sensors and ECU) is separate from the chassis (lights, accessories etc)? If this is so, could I just drop the entire wiring loom from the donor car in, plug it back up and drive away? Or is it more complicated than that? Im pretty handy with the ol' soldering iron and thinking of attempting this job myself sometime. Or is it something that is better left to a professional?

- Andy

BTW: I tried searching for info but couldn't find a straight answer. Sad
