I PMED Nimrod about this but i'll put my procedures for painting my ONG Rally rims..
Now my rims were a real bitch to sand because i have lots of little corners to get the sand paper in, they take a bit of time to do them all, hopefully urs will be easier...
After u have given em a pretty decent sand with something like 300-400grit (or u can even use something corser to get scratches out) you then wash the rims with a clean rag and repsol, this is important as rims get quite dirty and need prepsol (wax and oil remover) to be painted on..
Afterwards you then tape up the edge of the tyre (easier of course if tyre is not there but still do-able) Get some decent masking tape and tape around the edge of the rim to cover the tyre (and mask the tyre pressure attachment as it will look cheap if painted by mistake)
Once u've done this you need to spray the rims with a "ETCH PRIMER" or "PRIMER FILLER" doesn't matter what colour, preferably you get it the same colour as the paint but that won't matter..
Etch primer dries very quickly, in 3-4 mins you should be able to paint on it
Then i got a 400gram powerplus (obtained from super cheap auto for $13.90 ish) and get the colour your after.. i got SNO WHITE for my rims. thought it would match nicely to the theme of rally being SNOW hahaha
And yeah if u do these steps you will have a very nice colour and rims that WON'T crack and stones shouldn't chip it..
