i really really HATE the use of the term "go over the pits". It is ambiguous and vaigue in definition.

With the new rules, a car that was made before 1989 (this is you), can be freely** imported.

** when i say freely, i mean there is no restriction on what you can import. HOWEVER there is a little work required to get it registered.

1. You need to get a vehicle import approval BEFORE shipping the car over
2. Some modifications need to be performed to bring the car into line with some major ADR's.
3. An engineer must certify that the car has these features fitted/installed.
4. You register the car as you would any other UNREGISTERED vehicle (like a car you bought from interstate)
