strutto Regular Location: Gold Coast Registered: May 2002	Re: power steering? Tue, 04 June 2002 14:31 Not sure if this was clarified but... I have a 100kw 4AGE out of a 1992 AE92 GTi in my AE82. When I bought the engine, it had air con and power steering. I run neither now... There are two belts that run off the crank. One belt runs the water pump and alternator. The other belt runs the air con and power steering (and also has an idler pulley for adjustment). If you dont want to change to an assisted steering rack, its really easy to remove the power steering pump (like 4 bolts...). If you want to keep the air con though, your gunna need a shorter belt. Its pretty easy to get a belt that fits though. If you dont want or have air con or power steering, unbolt the lot and you'll only need the one belt for the water pump and alternator.
