goto toyota but a thermostat and a new gasket about $20 and $5 respectivly, im guessing that the coolant is probaly eldodgo coolant so whilst your at toyota buy yourself a 4L bottle of toyota red coolant.
now from a parts shop, kmart, coles etc buy 4L of distilled water. mix it with the toyota coolant 50/50.
drain the eldodgo coolant from your car as per owners manual. (ie open drain plug in radiatior open drain cock in block (make sure you have the heater to full open whilst you do this too). give it a good blast with the hose to help get the old coolant out, drain again to get rid of hose water.
undo hose clamps on hoses attached to thermostat housing (depending on your engine changes where it is) remvoe thermostat housing (undow botls first) remove old thermo. insert new thermo and gasket.
put it all abck together, installation is reverse of removal. fill with nice new toyota coolant including drain/clean/refill of overflow bottle. bleed out any air in system as per owners manual/workshop manual (varies on car). prob not a bad idea to replace the radiator cap too if its looking a little dodgy. again genuineones are chap from toyota.
