Yeah man, CA18DE block.
I'm 90% sure we used the CA20E aircon unit, but I can't remember.
We used the CA20E engine mounts, they bolted to the CA18DE block.
The exhaust was too short by 100mm or so, but it only cost $50 to get a bit made up.
The wiring was the hardest bit as it was my first attempt.
The CA20E fuel pump is constant earth, and 12v switched.
The CA18DE is constant 12v, and earth switched.
Took about 4 days to figure that one out.
Tacho still doesnt work, as it needs a booster (CA18DE is coil pack)
We didnt use the temp sender from the CA20E so the temp guage is a bit off (I'm not even sure if they have a separate guage and ecu sender like Toyota's do)
The CA20E uses a 6 bolt flywheel, and the CA18DE uses an 8 bolt.
The CA18DE we got was an auto, so we had to source a flywheel, and a new clutch.
Don't forget to put in a spigot bush if you do the same!
Throttle cable is on a bit of an angle, but its been like that for a couple of years now, and its fine. It even went over the pits like that.
I think thats the main differences.
I do recommend changing the water pump, timing belt while the motor is out too. The water pump is off the timing belt, so its a bitch to replace while in the car.
Get the injectors cleaned and give the coilpacks a nice cleaning with CRC too.
