if its pinging then you might have advanced your cams when you were fiddling? i'd be checking your timing above all else...and then look at other factors...
the oil leaking past your dizzy can be fixed by renewing a O ring on the shaft of the dizzy - get one from toyota.
also, might help if you check the diags for your ECU - see if any codes come out?
