You can sometimes get a bargain, ive heard of someone finding one in fairly good condition with rego etc for $900 
Expect to pay anywhere between $2500 -$5000 depending on the condition etc. If you are wanting a daily driver, get something other than a sprinter as they are no fun at all in stock form, maybe a sx corolla or something (yes i know a sprinter is a corolla but for argument sake its not) as it will be better and probably find a nice corolla cs or something in great condition cheaper than a sprinter
