Can't you go back to the shop and find out why they messed with it? I don't think they would have done it without a reason. Once you know that, and know that you want to set it back to stock, you can find out exactly what they did, and undo it.
I don't think it's worth buying a new AFM jusy cos you've got to change the gear/spring relationship a click or two.
