howdy people Smile

just a few queries about a possible AE86 purchase...now, around 6 months ago a fairly immaculate AE86 came into work (Aus spec), bought by my boss...

i had a right good time stripping its guts out to be built as a rally car...but since i finished pulling it apart it has gathered dust...
as far as i can tell, it has no rust, except a 50 cent coin sized peice on the rear bumper...

yesterday it got moved outside, with all its bits, under a waterproof car cover...and i know its for sale, due to lack of time to build it...i am thinking of buying it for 2 grand as is, or 2500 with the 4age and box sitting in the workshop...

your opinion, i dont want this car to rust...just seems i wont have another time to snap it up before it rusts over

i have ideas of making it strret legal, but with a tame rollcage and seam welded..making it a nice little car that can occaisionally dig a little bit in motorsport

i have about 4k that im happy to spend right now, and i dont intend on getting it on the road for a few years....

as you guys are pretty much my source of information (not really a toyota buff, more a subaru guy...but i just have fallen inlove with these sprinters Smile) would you say is a good or bad idea, are spares/modifications alot of money for these?

any help would be much appreciated..

Thanks,
Andy.
