I would have thought it would be better as close as possible to the turbo (the hot side) similar to the design of the factory sw20. If you had it close to the throttle body, imagine the whole system being pressurised, you'd have to let out a fair bit of gas before reducing the slowing effect on the turbo. Where as if it where close to the turbo, the effect would be almost immediate relief for the turbo and may even help to keep the rest of the system remain slightly pressurised for the next gear.
I'm sure I'm going to melt my plastic bosch BOV when I test this theory though
