4A-FC does exist. As haggis pointed out they're the carby engine from an AE92 (I should know being blessed with one Mad )
They are all twin cam. You guys should know how to read Toyota engine codes, come on! The 'F' stands for economy, in other words, twin camshafts. Narrow angle cams as pointed out earlier by M.W.P. The 'G' in 4A-GE or 1G-GTE or 2JZ-GTE means wide angle twin cams.
They aren't bad. A decent torque line and they are plenty quick enough in the city (but not for fun or our egos). The best thing is they're an easy engine to tune and play with yourself, which I'm slowly getting the hang of doing.
