DRFT - 86 Regular Location: Batemans Bay, NSW Registered: February 2005	Re: 4age 16v sounds terrible after 6000rpm Fri, 15 April 2005 13:51 it got bounced man.......the previous owner demostrated it once in graphic detail.. by grabing the throttle cable and pulling it so it was WOT......the motor was shaking like a mutha fucker..... this was for a fair amount of time to..........{as well as some very abusive driving habbits..}(something I would never attempt, but he didnt care about it)... ........its been making this noise since I bought it....(last july)...... sorry........I really dont know how to explain the noise ahy....the pitch fully changes ahy...umm..gets all harsh and rattlaly..??.........if that helps at all.............basically it sounds really unhealthy so I avoid taking it past 6ooorpm most of the time......sorry for the brief discription....dont know how to put the sound into words.. also it idles higher than it should....about 1300rpm...previous owner said thats because it needs new valve springs.....was not to sure of this though.....I dont know how the compression is... other than this it goes fine.....it dosnt burn/use oil....run smokey or anything....
