The 3SFE is not so useless, get a sv21 camry-3sfe and a st162-3sge celica, install full exhaust system with extractors throw them on the dyno, and you are getting only 3kw@wheels less from a 3sfe, on the road 3 kw@wheels is not a world of difference.

correct me if i'm wrong but
3sge gen 1 = 103kw
3sfe = 86kw
I think the difference would be a bit more than 3kw at the treds.
then the gen 2 3sge have more powah again. If you were doing an engine conversion i'd doubt you'd bother with a gen 1.
