I would expect I would suffer minor oil starvation at accel because of the trap door. the door can only let oil in the sump pan not out. the windage tray and original horizontal baffle would provide sufficient backflow into the oilpan intself under accel, and the horizontal baffle would hopefully also keep oil from sloshing around and out of the oil pan.
looking forward to you picture though, because the less welding's be done the stronger the end result will be.
