Well boys and girls, my RA28 is up for sale. A lot of you know the car and know how it looks and performs. If you want to know more about it, have a look at my web site,

gold28

Here is a summary of the car.

Model: Celica RA28 1977
Engine: 1G-GTE donated by a GZ20 Soarer
         GA70 Intercooler
Bleed Valve Running 15-16psi at intake
         Power at wheels 149kW
Paint: Not sure, supposedly it is from a S70 Volvo

Wheels: Remotec Borbets 16x7 Hand Polished

Tyres: Front - nangkang 205/45R16
         Rear - Tornado 205/50R16
Gearbox: Supra 5 speed

Diff: E series from a MX2?? Corona
         Currently 3.9:1 Ratio

Suspension and Brakes: MA61 struts
RA60 Lower control arms and ball joints
MA61 calipers and discs up front
         RA28 Drums at back

Springs and Shocks - don't know what brand they are, shocks are getting a little tired.

Interior: All pretty much the standard RA28 stuff retrimmed in grey velour Looks good though
"wood grain" steering wheel and gear knob
Boost/Vacuum gauge where the clock was
VP/VR Commodore door map pockets/speaker pods
Custom backlit gauge faces (so I can actually see them at night)

Sound: Alpine CD player
Alpine 6inch splits for the front running off a V-net amp
2 MTX 15inch subs in the hatch running off a Alpine V12 Amp.

Comes with spare 1G-GTE - good motor but needs big end bearings. I can give you the part numbers and contact details of where to get the parts.

Spare rust free and straight doors and bonnet.

I am asking for $8000 for it.

Performance wise, it makes about 150kW at the wheels and any monkey could get into it and run a 13 second 1/4 mile. I ran a 13.7 and I can't drive a nail through balsa. Given a locked diff and sticky tyres it should run mid to high 12's easily enough. Currently the only thing slowing it down is a big lack of traction.

I use it as a daily driver and since putting the gen3 in it, it hasn't given me an ounce of trouble, so it's a fairly reliable car. Driven sensibily, it is fairly economical, well a lot better than a standard RA28 anyway. Obviously if you plant your foot, it will need a little more fuel to make 150kW

Here is a couple of photos for you. Check out the web page if you want more.
