I have ended up with about an inch between the exhaust side of the turbo and the firewall.
Will the engineer freak out about this because I don't have my required centimetre and a half?

Are these specs for the same area? one inch = 25mm > 15mm

clubagreenie: sorry, think you misunderstood me. An inch (approx 25mm) is the room I have between the exhaust housing on the turbo and the firewall.
15mm is how much space I heard I have to have beteen the engine and the firewall to pass engineering (don't ask me where I heard it though).
I was worried that if I filled that one inch of space that I had with a turbo bag, I would not pass engineering.
