flyinwall Occasional Poster Location: Toowoomba Registered: March 2005	Re: What conversion for 82-85 Hilux Thu, 28 April 2005 06:50 ok for a start get at least an 84 model as the engine bay is bigger and get the diesel version (for the following reason)if you want a cheap and simple conversion get a 6M-GTE all you have to do is get a bellhousing off a crown (i think or it might be a cressida) and use that to bolt the motor straight into place no more mods needed you even use the originla engine mounts and then you just have to wire up the efi and your set to go with plenty of power to light up all 4 wheels on the road there is a bit more info on the net about it do a search for supra surf ahd it should be able give you all the info you will need (yes i considered it a viable conversion for my surf and im kicking myself for not doing it!)
