why do a superstrut brake conversion

Hi,
why would you buy ae101 275mm disc rotor when you have to mill it down to around 260mm?
Just keep the std GTI 258mm disc rotor and fit the twin piston calipers. I know the ae101 is thicker but the GTi disc will also have less rolling mass.
