better calipers, thicker discs.

brakes convert kinetic energy into heat via friction.

TWO BIG THINGS TO CONSIDER
1. friction co-efficient. More friction = more movement turned into heat
2. Heat sinking ability. Buy being thicker, the disc can absorb MORE HEAT and cool down enough to enable MORE FRICTION to be applied to it before it fails to be able to take any more.
