thanks for the offer. I've spoken to some engineers here at work who are well into cars and they think that the guides should be fine for a while yet so i'm putting them back. For anyone in need of new chain guides, I've been told neoprene or similar would work and you can get it in two tubes of chemical that you mix together, put some boxing around it so it stays on the guide and pour it in. Then you have to level it all off later with a grinder or something so it's all the same height and smooth. Hope this helps someone cause it took me a lot of time calling people to find that out.
