My advice would be to go back to the tubular steel, and brace the construction. I'd also look at keep ing all the runners short to reduce the fatigue loading in the welds - you've already stated you don't want high power figures, so just focus on getting the gas to the turbo and be happy with your attempts at bracing the runners.
