Synthetic oils are fine in older engines, but don't put it straight into your freshly rebuilt engine or they wont allow the components to bed in properly. Only put it in after the engine is run in.

On saying that though, plenty of engines have done plenty of miles on mineral based oil, just don't run your $6 Kmart blend in it Laughing , the heat from the turbo will break it down in no time
