It looks like you've overloaded (with brightness) the CCD in your camera. The dark circle is where I think the real sun was?
You eyes do the same thing. If you look at a bright object and then shut your eyes you'll see a negative image of the object. There's a proper name for this but I can't remember it.
A 100W light bulb, no matter how close, isn't the same brightness as the sun. Although it's not wise, you could look at a 100W bulb and not destroy your eyes (though, as I said, I doubt they'd appreciate it), but you can't look at the sun (for more than a brief moment) without doing some damage to the old ocular system.
Take a pic of an arc-weld in action if you want to even get close to the brightness of the sun and see how the image looks.
Anyway, that's my educated opinion.... so I could also be talking shit.
