is the timing chain loose?
maybe adjust the timing chain tensioner? this could be loose when the motor is stopped. it is hydraulic though and probably tightens up when oil pressure comes.
does it rattle much, when starting, or all the time?
theres a big bolt head on the left hand side of the head. there a little hole in the middle of it. using a screw driver you can push up this hole and feel the slack in the timing chain. adjust the big bolt until you have about 1.5mm of play.
if you have 18rg head on 18rc block, i hope you have 18rg pistons and oil pump at least.
