I would think that the AFM would be the one of the last things you would max out.
Your fuel maps probably don't go past 1 bar on the standard ECU... if that is the case then the ECU should theoretically fuel cut.

You really need to have an ecu with maps to cope with whatever boost you are going to chuck at your engine, or at least monitor the engine on a dyno or with an analyser whilst you up the boost.
