I might be getting my filthy hands on a Bedford van soon and it will be in dire need of an engine transplant as we all know that the Holden 202 rubbish aint gonna cut it.
The easiest and best engine I guess would be a 302 or a 351 EFI but I'm worried about the fuel consumption Confused Anyone know the economy of these things?
Other than that whats some other engines that maybe able to handle the abuse of my right foot and wont stress about towing my fat arse heavy boat for 3000+ km trips?
Any thoughts?

I once saw one of these vans with a fuel injected 400 chev motor run a flat 12 sec pass at the drags Shocked . Aerodynamics like a brick will not help your fuel ecomony, neither will forced induction. I'd go with whatever injected v8 is the easiest to fit - geared proerly it should lope along pretty lazily on long runs.
