I went and had fun,... and problems, infact the corolla was uncharacteristically unreliable.
1st run - car crept through the lights (clutch was dragging and not in the racing sense), couldn't change gears, missed second missed third, went through for 13.4 @106mph in 3rd. So we took it to the pits and flushed the hydraulic system, greased the master and slave cylinders.
2nd - 12.2 poor launch
Eliminations - got through a few rounds and then redlighted out.
Damage diagnosis - the 1st - 2nd gear selector is broked
No worries - 2 x spare W58's to pilfer for parts.
Good to catch up with the likes of captain chaos and 1JZ 747 and watch them into the finals and take some trophies
My mates tough Datsun 1200 2 door sedan cut an 11.35 @ 116 and nearly had the 2JZ powered KE70 wagon. Not bad for a non-intercooled SR20..
