I would think you would need a turbo upgrade on both engines to run 11s. i am going for the 1jz engine when i do my conversion, here are my reasons. 1. 1jz is a newer engine and there are also more parts available. 2. Most auto wreckers want a similar price for both engines and front cuts. and i believe the 1jz will be better. 3. I have seen many high power outputs with stock internals. (600ps) although not many people give the 7mgte a chance. (cept the yanks) im sure it is a highly capable engine, after all look at the quality of build of the rest of the cars the engine sits in. just my opinion. dont take it too seriously though cause i still think my 7mge is fast!
