ok im not saying that everyone os right or wrong but your all pretty informed on what is actually legal acording to ADR.
however my point is when it comes to cops they dont know a whole lot and so write down things like "tyres too large" which furthur points out their lack of knowledge on motor vehicle enhancement.
my other point is that not all mechanics conform 100% to the law and at the end of the day alot of them are car enthusiasts like you and i and therefore understand how police act upon modified vehicles. hence if you find a mechanic fitting this description and offer a little extra they will generally clear your defect although you havent actually fixed anything.
my main point is why bother changing something back to standard when we all know your gunna put it back to the way it was when you got defected. save yourself the hassle and support your local mechanic with a $50 bonus.
