It all depends on the tyre construction as to what preasure you run when you go to a track.
It is recomended that standard road tyres when used on a track be put to about 38-40 as their side wall construction is not designed to take track work loading at low PSI, as you start to get higher in the tyre range, the side wall construction gets stronger so you can run a lower PSI,

Thats my opinion anyway.
