THE WITZL Forums Junkie Toymods Social Secretary Location: Sydney Registered: July 2002	Re: Star Wars 3::::: WARNING The movie will be talked about:::: Wed, 01 June 2005 05:27 well actually, reviewing the episodes in my memory the only people who refer to the prophecy are the jedi council members and Qui Gon, so we do not really know what the prophecy reads nor what the Jedi originally interpreted the prophecy to read.... the only insight we get into it is what these Jedi say about the prophecy, that "the chosen one will bring balance to the force [and] destroy the sith" As for what Yoda says, its "the prophecy misread, could have been". In my mind he is more refering to Mace Windu sensing that Anakin is perhaps not wholly loyal to the Jedi order and possibly already swayed by the dark side...... in that he will leave the force IMBALANCED..... My interpretation comes more from not looking at balance being an equilibrium of jedi and sith, but an equilibrium of ALL THINGS. The sith are wholly insular, caring only about themselves and using their abilities/knowledge of the force to gain power for themselves, with complete disregard for others..... this is unbalanced in the sense of what is sustainable for the entire galaxy and how it effects everyone within it. 2 sith and 2 jedi is balanced if that is all you are considering, but the way that Obe Wan, Yoda and Mace Windu refer to balance indicates me that they are refering to balance within the galaxy. You all should remember ep4 and Obe Wan saying, "that was before the dark times, before the empire"..... the rule of the Sith puts the galaxy in imbalance by allowing an autocratic rule of fear and terror, rather than a democratic society of peace and harmony. I will agree that the Jedi misinterpret the prophecy in that they think narrow-mindedly of HOW Anakin brings balance to the force. They think he will simply destroy the Sith, and yippee hooray lefts have a party and get back to normal...... they just dont see that Anakin will become Sith, before destroying them all. Well Mace Windu actually senses it, but is confused because his vision is clouded by the dark side surrounding Sidius/palpatine and Anakin.....
