Yeah definetly look into at GTE conversion but it will cost alot.
If you are to do the exhaust don't just stick a noisy muffler on. As cool1 said make sure you get the whole lot.... ie extractors.
In my opinion, and there are articles to support this, Pod style air filters don't really increase performance.
the factory Toyota filters perform very well. Just make sure you change them frequently (once a year depending on your mileage).
Pod filters will remove the air box which acts like a resonator and give you an induction type sound but not much else.
