Hmm all the 4x ae86's i've wired up have not had those colours on the alternator plug.

Are you looking at the original plug, or the plug that used to go into the external voltage reg?

As you need to pick the wires out of the 6 pin(i think 6, or so) plug.

From memory there is a white, yellow & block/yellow wire in there you need.

Now i'm also bit confused about those colours you have on the alternator. The 16v 4ages i've done dont have blue/red.

Anyhow, usually there is a label or ingraving telling you the pins on the alternator.

There should be IG, S and L . As well as the big arse white charge wire that goes directly to battery.

IG (normally black/yellow) goes to ignition + (you'll find this in the old external reg plug, check with multimeter to be sure).

S - (normally white) goes to B+ (can just connect to the big arse charge wire.

L - charge light. wire in ext. alt. plug, white or yellow i'm quite sure.

Cheers
Joel
