They may seem that way.... but remember your paying in pounds which is slightly less than $3/pound.
And while the pound is worth more than the AU$ the buying power is much worse. ie a can of coke cost ~1 pound in the UK.
So you pay through the roof for things like labour. I'm not to sure about jap parts though.
