There was a puddle of green something on top of the manifold and you could see where it has been spilled over the headlight covers and behind the bumper. Even if it was just this dye stuff, they should've atleast cleaned it up. The panel beater might be a bit more difficult as they did the repairs over a year ago, but they did say it came with a 'lifetime guarantee' and that the 'repair should outlast the car'. I know not all workshops are bad, I've dealt with a few I'd wholeheartedly recommend! It just seems that the majority of the places I've come across just don't take young blokes or jap cars seriously. ALL car Air Con gases are fully synthetic as the only naturally occuring commonly used refrigerant is ammonia(R717) and recently CO2(R747 i think). i dont know of any running ammonia or CO2. I think they're pulling your chain a bit. Its sad\annoying that trades people try bullshit those who have no idea what its involved to cover their fuck ups. As for the dye, that stuff isnt cheap...are you POSITIVE it wasnt detergant they spilt on your car? As for the green liquid in the inspection window...sure you're not looking at the moisture indicator? I would also do as others have suggested, take it back and get things rectified.
