Freakit's been a while since i played with mine... yes they have a external regulator...
i dont have the wiring diagram of the ze alt, so i cant help you there.. Sad

you would be much better of getting a 'normal' alternator with a charge output wire and a trigger....
i put a 120amp bosch alternator on my ze, much better... Smile
